How does Bayline Marine work?
Bayline Marine is a full-service boat brokerage based in Minnesota. We help private sellers move boats faster by handling the entire process—from listing and marketing to buyer communication and showings. In many cases, we can store your boat on our secured lot, so you don’t have to deal with it sitting on your property while it’s for sale.
Do I need to list and show the boat myself?
No. That’s the whole point. We handle the listing, marketing, buyer inquiries, and showings. You don’t have to deal with messages, scheduling, or strangers coming to your home.
Do you take possession of the boat?
In many cases, yes. We can coordinate moving your boat to our lot, where it can be shown to buyers more easily. This gets it off your property and allows us to manage the process more efficiently.
Is there any upfront cost?
No. There are no upfront listing fees. We only get paid when your boat sells.
How do you get paid?
We earn a commission based on the final sale price. Our goal is simple: get your boat sold at a fair price as efficiently as possible.
What types of boats do you accept?
We work with a wide range of used boats, including pontoons, fishing boats, bowriders, wake boats, cruisers, and more. Each submission is reviewed to make sure it’s a good fit.
How do you find buyers?
We market your boat across multiple platforms, create professional listings, and handle all incoming inquiries. Our goal is to get your boat in front of serious buyers—not just casual browsers.
Will I have to deal with buyers directly?
No. We handle all communication, questions, and showings. We only involve you when necessary to finalize the sale.
What about test drives or inspections?
We handle initial showings and buyer conversations. If a serious buyer wants to move forward, we can help coordinate next steps such as inspections or water tests when appropriate.
How long does it take to sell a boat?
It depends on pricing, condition, and market demand. Some boats generate interest quickly, while others take longer. We’ll work with you to position your boat competitively and keep things moving.
What happens when a buyer is ready?
We coordinate the final steps, keep communication organized, and help move the deal toward closing. Once the sale is completed, you get paid.
Do I need to provide paperwork?
Yes. You’ll need to provide ownership documentation (such as title and bill of sale details) so the transaction can be completed smoothly when a buyer is ready.
Do you work with buyers outside of Minnesota?
Yes. While we’re based in Minnesota, we work with buyers across the country and can help coordinate the process when needed.
Can buyers get financing?
Some boats may be eligible for financing depending on the situation. We can connect buyers with financing partners when applicable, but buyers are free to use any lender they choose.
Why use Bayline Marine instead of selling it myself?
Most private listings get buried, attract low-quality buyers, or sit for weeks. We handle the process professionally, bring in serious buyers, and remove the hassle—so your boat actually sells.
How do I get started?
Submit your boat through our form and we’ll review the details. From there, we’ll reach out, confirm next steps, and take it from there.
